The Virtual Vascular Human group works on developing in silico models of blood flow and drug transport in the brain, retina, and peripheral vascular system. The aim of these models is to develop in silico clinical trials for pharmaceutical and medical device development, optimal dosing, and personalised treatment response.

Dr Wahbi El-Bouri is head of the Virtual Vascular Human Group at University of Liverpool. The group is part of the Liverpool Centre for Cardiovascular Science, an interdisciplinary collaboration of clinicians, fundamental scientists, and engineers working to improve healthcare outcomes in the Liverpool region and internationally.
